Born out of the need for trusted and transparent recommendations, our website is on a mission to build community, give unbiased suggestions, and assist businesses in showcasing their unique offerings. That means customers can find what they’re looking for without searching for hours to verify information or encountering advertising. A note from the founder

I have always wanted to work on something that truly makes a difference. Today, that project is Squizz.

The directory concept grew from several frustrations.

1. Local WhatsApp group recommendations often referred businesses that I did not have a good experience with, simply because “there was no one else to recommend”.
2. When looking for specific services and products online, I could not find exactly what I was looking for in my area. Overseas sites and ads would pop up, and it would turn into a large exercise searching multiple sources.
3. Often, once I had found what I was looking for, I couldn’t be sure I trusted the website after having no one else but the internet to advocate for the business.
4. Being a business owner is not easy in South Africa with many external factors disrupting profit. There are so many local businesses I love and support, and I know many others would love too, if they only had a place that supported and recommended them. I want to see these businesses grow and thrive!

And so, we created a trusted community tool for people to find relevant information, products, services and events in their area, recommended by the heart of each community

Squizz supports the work-from-home parent, the local butcher who’s been in business for 30 years, and the entrepreneur that followed thier passion – you name it, we support you and want to see you thrive!
